Nurses Healing Nursing

A catalyst for the improving the environments that nurses and healthcare professionals work in and to improve patient outcomes.

I have been a Registered Nurse for 25 years and after attending the National Nurse March, in Washington DC on May 12th, 2022, I was empowered to use my background and education to help nurses unite to become an impactful part of the legislative process.

My aim is to educate other nurses and healthcare professionals on the legislative process, while providing tools, links, and support to effectuate change, improve working conditions, and improve patient outcomes.

My aim is also to research bills in the US and individual state's legislature that impact nursing, and healthcare, and provide education on the bills, the sponsors, and how we can get involved in making these bills laws. I will provide you with templates that you can use to contact your state and US congressional representatives in order to professionally reach out to the individuals that make decisions about our profession.

Additionally, I will find the politicians that support our profession so we can make educated decisions about elected officials that support us, so we, in turn can support them. I am not a politician, I have no financial gain in this, I will never ask you for money, but I am one of you, I am a nurse, a wife, a mother and I want this profession to be better for us and all of the future nurses out there. I do this completely in my free time, so be please patient with me and I will extend the same respect to all of you.

Background

I have been a nurse for 25 years. I currently am working as a nurse educator as a nursing professor at a local college. I have a Master's in Nursing Education, a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, and I am a Certified Nurse Educator. I have 5 kids, 2 dogs, and a bunny. I am extremely passionate about this profession and about quality patient care. I will never give up on making this profession the best it can be for generations to come.
